PSCDCL signs MoU with Bosch India for Traffic Education Park in Yerawada

PUNE: Pune Smart City Development Corporation Limited (PSCDCL) has come up with the concept of a traffic park for the city.

A traffic park will be made in Yerawada area near the hot mix plant run by the civic body. This facility will be utilised to educate people about traffic rules and regulations through real-time demonstrations, making the learning process effective.

On Thursday, the PSCDCL signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bosch India Foundation for the creation of Traffic Education Park in Pune, in the presence of Pune District Guardian Minister Girish Bapat. PSCDCL Area Development Officer Vasant Patil and Bosch India Foundation General Manager Mohan Patil were also present.

Speaking on the occasion, PSCDCL Chief Executive Officer Dr Rajendra Jagtap said, “The Traffic Education Park will bring about a paradigm shift in the attitude of citizens towards road safety.”

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Tejaswi Satpute said, “This is a positive move as it creates awareness and imparts knowledge to citizens across various age groups on traffic rules and regulations.”

The park will come up on 3.3 acres of land and will have simulators and a children’s play area.

The park will have models of roads, signals, intersections and bridges and pathways for pedestrians and bicycle users.

The simulators will be installed for two-wheelers, three-wheelers and four-wheelers to enhance skills of drivers.

These training facilities will in turn generate employment opportunities for citizens.

In children’s play areas, there will be a jungle gym, a swing and activity area for toddlers.
