PrCDA (SC) Re-Creates 100 Years Of History

Pune: The Principal Controller of Defence Accounts (Southern Command) (PrCDA(SC)) Pune re-enacted 100 years of an official lunch organised in 1919 on the occasion of 68th anniversary of foundation of Defence Accounts Department (DAD) on October 1, 2019.
 
The DAD, responsible for providing accounts, auditing, payments and financial advice services to the Services, is one of the oldest civil services dating back to 1747.

The Union Jack in the 1919 official picture was replaced by the Indian Tricolour in the picture taken on October 1, 2019. The foundation day was celebrated with re-dedication of the organisation of PrCDA (SC) to providing service to the Services with professionalism. 

Mayank Sharma, PrCDA (SC), exhorted the staff to achieve highest standards of professionalism by adopting latest management practices and modern concepts. 

Pr CDA (SC) has 108 sub-offices spread over Maharashtra, Gujarat and West Rajasthan. These include eight Pay & Accounts Offices responsible for pay and allowances of three lakh Army soldiers. They process three lakh bills in a year and make 100 per cent e-payments. It is working towards establishing fully automated bills processing system which will raise efficiency of procurement in the Southern Command.

The DAD has a long history of 272 years. On  Tuesday, the Office of PrCDA (SC) celebrated the 68th Foundation Day of the DAD. Two teams led by  Dhananjay Singh and  Dhiraj Gugale received the motivational award from the PrCDA (SC) for outstanding work. Many dignitaries were present on the occasion. Sports and cultural events were conducted.
