PMRDA plans 30K residential units

PUNE: Officials of Pune Metropolitan Regional Development Authority (PMRDA) on Saturday said that about 30,191 residential units have been planned by PMRDA which will benefit home buyers under the Pradhan Manti Awas Yojana (PMAY) scheme. Of these 30,191 units, around 20,206 units are for Low Income Group (LIG) and Economically Weaker Section(EWS), which will help home buyers as the government will support them with funds of Rs 2.5 lakh.

Speaking about the initiative, Guardian Minister Girish Bapat said that the initiative is a part of the PMAY scheme under which affordable housing will be provided to the urban poor by March 31, 2022. PMRDA officials said that about 720 units of 1 BHK have been planned in Bavdi area of Haveli taluka of which 360 units are for EWS and will cost around Rs 12.87 lakh.

Similarly, 425 units for EWS and 60 units for LIG have been planned in Wagholi and will cost around Rs 12.28 lakh. About 703 units of 1 BHK are planned at Mulkhed in Mulshi taluka and will cost around Rs 7.8 lakh. Similarly, there are plans coming up in Lonikand, Mahalunge and Maan areas. The units in Lonikand will cost around Rs 9.12 lakh while those in Mahalunge will cost around Rs 18.79 lakh.
