PMRDA planning to soon build homes on PPP basis

Pune: To provide affordable homes, the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) is planning to construct them on Public Private Partnership (PPP) basis. According to PMRDA Chief Kiran Gitte, 10 developers have till now shown interest in the proposal. “Property prices of about 50 per cent flats in the scheme will be decided by PMRDA and the developer can decide the prices of remaining 50 per cent. The developer will benefit by the scheme as there will be benefits on less stamp duty charges for the developer on flats under the scheme,” added Gitte.

The PMRDA will start the tender process on ring road development between Wadachiwadi to Wagholi from Thursday. “Currently, we have Rs 330 crore which we will utilise in the initial phase of the project and we are also expecting funds from NHAI to fund the project in the coming future,” added Gitte.

Speaking about toll collection on the ring road, Gitte said that while local vehicles will not be asked to pay toll, there are plans to collect toll from commercial vehicles. However, a decision is yet to be taken on this issue.
