PMPML to ply 112 extra buses

Pune: The Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) will ply extra buses for Warkaris and other devotees from Dehu and Alandi on the occasion of the annual Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj and Sant Tukaram Maharaj Palkhi processions, which will begin from Dehu and Alandi on June 24 and 25.

This year, there will be 112 extra buses for Warkaris going to Alandi, which will leave from Swargate, Hadapsar, Pune station, Nigdi, Bhosari, Hinjawadi, Chinchwad, Pimpri and PMC Bhavan bus stops.

On June 28, when the devotees stop over for lunch at Hadapsar before proceeding towards Saswad, bus trips have been planned to take devotees to Alandi, Pune station, Warje, Malwadi, Kothrud Depot and Nigdi.

“On June 28, due to procession, a section of Pune-Saswad road near Dive Ghat will remain closed for the most part of the day. The service on this route will be made operational once the route becomes available for buses, as the devotees proceed further, ” said PMPML spokesperson Subhash Gaikwad.

“We will also continue to operate parallel service via Bopdev Ghat. These buses will ply from that area to Swargate, Pune station and Hadapsar. A total 66 additional trips have been planned on the day,” he said.

The service will benefit a large number of devotees coming from various parts  of Maharashtra State, seeking blessing of Lord Vitthala during the annual pilgrimage.
