PMPML fines bus maker Rs 4.5 crore

Pune: The Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) has imposed a fine of Rs 4.5 crore on the manufacturing company for the delay in the supply of 300 buses, which included 225 CNG and 75 electric buses. The decision was taken in the Board of Directors (BoD) meeting on Saturday.

While speaking to Sakal Times, PMPML Director Siddharth Shirole said, “These buses were supposed to be delivered by August 31 but the manufacturer delayed the process. Due to this delay, the authority decided to impose a fine of Rs 10,000 per bus per day or 10 per cent of the price of the bus. Accordingly, the administration has proposed a penalty of around Rs 4.5 crore.”
