Pune: The Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) administration has decided to dismissed 100 staff members found to have only been in attendance for 18 days in
a month.

This includes drivers, conductors and staff of the workshop.

The move comes after a report found errors in marking of attendance. The administration has found that some employees were irregular with their attendance. The official of transport body has reviewed the report of six months in all 13 depots in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad.

“The report found that around 100 staff were not present for more than 18 days. It has been decided to sent notice to these employees. In the last six months, it was observed that employees were absent regularly without informing their superiors,” informed PMPML traffic department head Anant Waghmare.

The first action was taken by the previous Chairman and Managing Director Tukaram Mundhe in January 2018, who had dismissed around 300 staff members for not marking their attendance in the register. After that, employee absenteeism reduced. However, in the last one year, after the transfer of Mundhe, the employees became complacent and the number of absentees increased drastically.

New action Plan
 The PMPML administration has decided to depute more staff in the depot during peak hours.

 Manager, timekeeper and garage supervisor of all 13 depots of Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad will be present during peak hours.
 They will be responsible for the buses departing from the depot and ensuring that there will be no hassle of passengers to take buses.
