Pune: Officials at Pune Municipal Corporation’s (PMC) Yerawada ward office have decided to file a police complaint against All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) corporator Ashwini Landge’s husband Daniel for interfering in official work.
Meanwhile, when contacted, Daniel Landge denied the allegations and claimed that it is nothing but a conspiracy to damage the couple’s political image. Ashwini Landge is the only corporator from AIMIM in PMC. In Yerawada panel, the other three corproators, Sanjay Bhosale Shewata Chavan and Avinash Salve, belong to the Shiv Sena. Daniel Landge said, “We have not done anything wrong. Shiv Sena corporators are wrongly targeting us.”
The officials said that Daniel, along with other persons, had thrown away material belonging to the corporation from Arogya Kothi (small room used to store material used for carrying out road cleaning activity) on February 12. Zonal Commissioner Vijay Dahibhate issued the order to file a complaint against those involved on the basis of an investigation report filed by PMC officials.
The report was submitted by Municipal Officer Sandeep Rajurkar to Zone-1 Commissioner Vijay Dhahibhate. The report mentioned that Ashwini Landge carried out renovation work of Arogya Kothi by utilising development funds allocated for her ward. Another corporator Sanjay Bhosale too carried out renovation work of a structure behind Shrimal Hospital. Bhosale had stored the material in the newly renovated Arogya Kothi.
Irked by this, Daniel Landge asked the officials to remove material from Arogya Kothi, as they wanted to use the space to start an OPD in that room. Despite officials requesting him that they would remove the material once the renovation of the other room is completed, Daniel forced the officials to remove the material from Arogya Kothi.
Ashwini Landge had earlier taken up the issue of bogus patients at Rajiv Gandhi Hospital located in Yerawada. She had claimed that she exposed fake admissions of around 150 patients in an attempt to hand over the hospital to a private player.
