PCMC initiates primary survey of 58 acres land in Talwade

Pimpri: The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has initiated a primary survey of 58 acres land in Talwade, which is reserved for a theme park. Earlier, PCMC was planning to develop a deer park on the land. But now the civic body has appointed a consultant for the suggestion of a theme.

Suggestions from people are also invited for the same.

PCMC Commissioner Shravan Hardikar recently conducted a meeting with the concerned officials to streamline the long pending project of the civic body. The civic body had proposed this project a decade ago, but there is not much progress besides reserving 58 acres of land in Talawade village. The civic body has not yet acquired this land.

According to civic authorities of PCMC, it is going to conduct a survey of the proposed land. The civic body has appointed a technical consultant, who will suggest a theme for the park. It is also supposed to prepare a detailed project report (DPR) of the project. The civic body is going to pay Rs 16.80 lakh to the consultant for preparing the DPR.

The civic body will send this DPR to the State government and Central zoo authority for approval. After getting due approval from Central government the actual work of the project will start.

Meanwhile, the civic body is going to undertake an acquisition of the said land.

PCMC Commissioner Shravan Hardikar has prepared a questionnaire for the implementation of the project. Through this questionnaire, feedback from the citizen will be taken for the planning of the project.

Instead of sticking with its initial plan of developing a deer park, the civic body is exploring other options also that include bird safari, night safari and more. The theme for the park will be developed in next six to eight months.
