PCB yet to announce complete voters’ list

PUNE: The Pune Cantonment Board (PCB) is yet to add a number of voters in the list from the Pune Cantonment jurisdiction for the general election. While last year there were about 65,000 voters in the Cantonment jurisdiction, this year the new list is yet to be declared, DN Yadav, Chief Executive Officer of PCB said. 

Yadav said, “We have already done the awareness campaigns. Ghorpadi Junior College located at Ghorpadi, Ravindranath Tagore High School located at Modi Colony, Mahadji Shinde High School located at Wanowrie and Dr Ambedkar Memorial Technical High School located at Solapur Bazaar conducted the awareness campaigns at Ghorpadi, MG Road, Bootee Street, Solapur Bazaar, East Street and other areas of the Cantonment.”

“From March first week, the forms of voters registration were available and many people had taken these from the Cantonment. The exact count of forms taken by residents of Cantonment has not been known and neither the exact count of voters registered from the jurisdiction is known,” Yadav said.

“There will be 49 polling booths in the jurisdiction of Cantonment and the safety and security measures will be taken care by the Collectorate. If they need any help from us, we will provide them in terms of maintaining the safety and security during the polling day at the polling booths,” Yadav added.
