Pune: City-based NGO Parisar and Center for Environment Education are carrying out a survey on Air Quality of Pune to gauge the awareness and perception of citizens regarding the air quality.
They have launched a link on Google search engine where citizens of the city have to fill up the form. In this form, general questions related to air pollution and its harmful effects have been asked.
The last day to fill the form is May 26.
The project leader from Parisar, Sharmila Deo, said, “Untill now we have been doing social activity on public transportation. But over the years we realised that due to public transportation, air quality was also declining. Therefore, we launched this initiative by asking people their knowledge and health issues caused by air pollution.”
“Till now, we have received 200 submissions. By doing this, we will get an idea of how much knowledge the citizens of the city have about the air pollution and its ill-effects and later, we can take steps towards it by taking measurable actions to improve public transportation and thereby improving the air quality,” Deo added.
