PUNE: Amidst the lockdown, there’s good news for Pensioners as they will get their pensions deposited by March 30. As many as 1.30 lakh pensioners under Employees Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) in Pune will get their monthly pension by March 30.
Central Provident Fund Commissioner has directed the field offices of EPFO to generate and reconcile pensioners’ details and pension amount statements for the current month by 25th March, 2020.
Pune EPFO Regional Commissioner Arun Kumar told Sakal Times, “in order to ensure that no inconvenience is caused to the pensioners on account of the prevalent situation we have decided to disburse the pension amount early.“
Kumar further directed that the same has been forwarded to the banks in advance so that the monthly pension is credited into the account of the pensioners in time i.e. during the month of March itself.
"We are working as per instructions from Central Provident Fund Commissioner. We have asked all our staff to prioritize the pension work. The amount will be deposited by Thursday. Currently, pensioners get it on 1st of every month but now they will get by March 30," Kumar said.
EPFO is disbursing monthly pension to more than 65 Lakh pensioners every month under the Employees’ Pension Scheme, 1995.
