Over 26K students take admission in 1st round

PUNE: In the first regular round of admission for the First Year Junior College (FYJC), i.e. class XII, a total of 26,516 students in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad have taken admission in the colleges allotted to them through online Centralised Admission Process (CAP).

The last date of admission in the first round was Tuesday, July 16. The first merit list was declared on July 12.

A total of 48,701 candidates were allotted colleges for Arts, Science, Commerce, and Minimum Competency Vocational Courses (MCVC). Out of these, 24,364 were given the college of their first choice, so it was mandatory for them to take the admissions. The rest had a choice of waiting for the second merit list, which is scheduled to be released on July 22.

Out of the 63,566 students, who had applied this year, 14,865 are yet to be allotted any college.

The students who have not taken admissions will now be able to make changes to their preference lists, if they wish to, on July 17 and 18. The candidates who have not yet filled part 1 or 2 of the forms will also be allowed to do so on these two days.
