Now, traffic rule offenders can deposit fine amount in banks

PUNE: The Traffic Branch of Pune city police, which has been accepting payments through ATM cards only, has now asked people who want to pay in cash, to deposit the amount in the Traffic Branch’s account in the name of Deputy Commissioner of Police, Traffic Branch with the State Bank of India (SBI).

The police officials said that they have launched a drive to recover pending fines.

However, many people don’t have cards or Net banking facility to pay the amount.

A press release from the department stated, “The cash can be deposited in any branch of the State Bank of India and its receipt has to be submitted at the Traffic Branch control room. Then only, it will be considered that the penalty has been paid.”

This facility has been provided in addition to the existing online system.
