MUMBAI: There was no irregularity in the procurement of sonography machines for Pune civic hospitals, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis clarified in the assembly on Tuesday.
He was replying to a question raised by Hanumant Dolas and Shamrao Patil.
Dolas said that the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) bought fifteen sonography machines for its hospitals at inflated rates this year, which caused the PMC loss.
Replying to him, Fadnavis said that there was no irregularity in the procurement. “11 sonography machines were purchased before 2016-17. PMC purchased 5 more machines by spending Rs 1.55 crore. The Sajag Nagrik Manch has complained that the corporation has purchased these machines at high rates,” Fadnavis said.
“These machines were purchased on turn key system, including computer, printer, UPS, computer tables and Internet connection. These machines are far advanced in technology,” he further said.
“The PMC informed that the machines are purchased as per market rate, hence no inquiry has been constituted and no any penal action has been initiated against the civic officials,” he said.
