NGO of artists aiding street kids

Pune: To improve self esteem amongst street children, artists have formed an NGO- ‘Third Eye Foundation’. The organisation recently organised its first session with street children to know their psychology through therapies and work towards their development.

Around 40 street children from Rainbow Home Sneha Ghar and Rainbow Home Congress Bhavan had gathered at Rainbow Home Sneha Ghar, Shivajinagar, where the foundation had organised three types of therapies: art, dance and narrative therapy and creative communication.

Shilpa Puri, who took art therapy course, said, “We are basically collecting psychological data of these children and through the data, we will work on their development.”

Dance therapy was taken by Madhavi Khare, who said, “We have used dance as an ‘ice breaker’. Dance therapy helps one divert the mind into the positive side and the acceptance to things starts automatically.”

And Shibani, who took the narrative therapy and creative communication therapy class, said, “This therapy helped them to come out with their subconscious stories and we helped them to remove negativity from their stories and show positive side of problems.”
