On New Year’s eve, Pune police’s Twitter banter wins hearts

PUNE: Law and order is a serious matter but Pune police are anything but that on Twitter!

On Tuesday, the police left Twitteratis in splits with their witty reply to a user who was trying to troll the police when they tweeted asking people to stay away from drugs.

As Pune police urged the citizens to stay away from ‘Charas, Ganja’, a Twitter user tried to troll the police saying “Guys, LSD is allowed.” What followed was a hilarious response by the Pune police that led to a witty banter on Twitter.

As Pune police responded, “Tell us where to find it?”, the user asked if he could keep 10 packets for himself if he disclosed the place to get LSD.

Showing their witty side yet again, police responded - Aap saare rakh lena. Hum bas aapko rakh lenge. Chalega na sir? - (You keep all the packets, we will just keep you with us instead Alright?)

The Twitter Handle of Pune police has been known for its witty banter for a long time. Actively carrying out awareness amongst the public, the Pune police often show the public their hilarious side, as they play with words, puns, popular memes and engage in funny banters with common people.

Several other users too responded to the funny replies of police. As one of the users said “Mujhe bhi chahiye.” (I want), the police responded by asking “Your place or ours?”.

To a user who offered the police his so-called expertise and help by saying “Ay bro if you find some lemme know I’ll dispose it off in a closed room for you happy to help.”, the police unflinchingly replied “We have some very secure closed rooms of our own sir. Thank you.”

The social media team of Pune city police includes few professionals and police personnel. “It was a new year fun. Kept Punekars engaged in a productive chat,” Commissioner of Police  Dr K Venkatesham told Sakal Times.
