Nationwide Swavlamban Sankalp Mega Campaign held in Pune

PUNE: “If the administration, banks and entrepreneurs can come together, the target decided by Dalit Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DICCI) will be achieved,” said District Collector Naval Kishore Ram.

He was speaking at the inauguration session of Swavlamban Sankalp-Mega Campaign which was held in the city on Tuesday.

Swavalamban Sankalp is a nationwide outreach programme of Stand Up India Scheme organised by Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI), National SC-ST Hub (NSSH) and DICCI.

Stand Up India Scheme, a Central government scheme started in 2016, is a scheme that facilitates bank loans between Rs 10 lakh and Rs one crore to SC/ST’s in setting up a greenfield enterprise.

This one-day intensive programme is a participative interaction by all stakeholders, providing a platform for awareness and genesis of business development.

Ram further said, “We have DLBC (District level Bankers Committee) meetings instead of discussing the targets. It is important to discuss who all have applied and the sustainability of applications and feasibility for banks. There should be micro-study of all this in the DLBC meeting. I will try my best to involve SIDBI and NABARD in these meetings and we can take the review of all cases.”

This is the third outreach programme which is being held in the city and as many as 30 programmes were planned under the Stand Up India Scheme. The target is to create 1.25 lakh SC-ST entrepreneurs.

DICCI Founder Chairman Milind Kamble said, “This scheme was started in 2016 and in three years, around 20,000 individuals have benefited. However, this programme has got a five-year extension and we aim to complete our target of 2.05 lakh. Pune being an industrial hub, it can play an important role in this.”
