Nagar Rd traffic plan work to start soon

PUNE: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has prepared the Nagar Road integrated traffic plan and proposed three flyovers and grade separators to solve traffic congestion. Pune Traffic Planning Department has scheduled to start work as per the integrated traffic plan in March.

After that, the PMC had prepared an integrated traffic plan for Nagar Road and suggested three flyovers and grade separators at Yerawada-Shastrinagar, Kharadi and Golf Course Chowk. Former Standing Committee chairman and local corporator of Nagar Road areas Yogesh Mulik allocated the funds for the flyovers and grade separators.

Recently, Mulik and other lcorporators from Nagar Road areas conducted a meeting with Additional City Engineer Shriniwas Bonala and reviewed the integrated plan.

Mulik said, “The PMC Traffic Planning Department has prepared a plan of flyovers and grade separators and tabled it before the Estimation Committee for approval. After the approval, it will be sent to the Standing Committee for their nod and work will start in March.”

PMC requires Rs 90 crore for the Nagar Road integrated plan. The civic body has estimated a cost of Rs 90 crore for the plan, which will solve traffic congestion. Of this, Rs 15 crore is for grade separators and flyovers. In Golf Course Chowk, the PMC seeks Rs 20 crore to construct a flyover and Rs 20 crore for Shastri Nagar-Yerwada flyover.
