Modi Should Not Teach Patriotism To Congress

PUNE: Criticising Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Congress Member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha and national spokesperson of Party Anand Sharma said that PM Modi should not teach patriotism to Congress. Adding that Congress has a long tradition of patriotism and doesn’t have to show it to 120 crore Indians. He further said that Modi should concentrate on improving the country’s economy.

Sharma was in Pune on Saturday. Addressing a press conference in Congress Bhavan Sharma said, “Instead of taking efforts to overcome the economic crisis and finding solutions on unemployment, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is raising the issue of abolition of Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) in election campaigns. It is unfortunate.”

“BJP is misguiding people. They are ignoring reality. The country is going through a severe economic crisis. PM is busy improving his personal image by using government machinery. It is okay to raise Article 370 issue in Jammu and Kashmir election. But, when companies are shutting down and unemployment is increasing, it is not an appropriate time to speak on the issue. If PM speaks on these issues, we will be happy,” said Sharma.

“Congress is ready to help government but BJP leaders are criticising former prime minister and economist Manmohan Singh. They also teased Nobel prize winner Abhijit Banerjee, naming him as leftist. Union Minister Piyush Goyal will have to study economics before making such statements,” he added.
