PUNE: Gone are the days when milk was come delivered home or picked up from shops. With the emergence of smartphones, we are transported in a digital space and our lives are driven by the applications and numerous milk delivery apps are becoming a part of the lives of Puneites.

There are milk delivery apps like Provilac and DailyNinja which are gaining popularity among the locals as the apps not only facilitate ordering milk but one can also add or reduce the quantity, make easy payment and cancel the order anytime when not required. These apps save a lot of time of customers as they provide them with comfort and convenience.

Director of Provilac, Siddharth Runwal, said, “We are product-based company enabled with technology as the milk comes directly from the farms. Pune is very adaptive towards technology as we started in 2015, and today, we have 5,000 active users of our app.”

“A lot of young people live here. Some of them are young working couples who do not have much time and also bachelors who prefer to use such platform as it reduces the hassles of going out and buying milk and can be delivered with just mere touch on your smartphones,” he added.

Founder of DailyNinja, Anurag Gupta, said, “We have tied up with 40+ vendors across Pune as we are trying to empower them with technology and we have 2,100 active users in different areas across the city.”

“The flexibility to order the milk even at 11 in the night and cancel it anytime, not only help the customers, but also the vendors as they can have control on inventory and there is so wastage of milk,”  he added.

A businesswoman from Market Yard, Soniya Raisoni, is using milk delivery apps for two and a half years, is very happy due to the convenience and comfort it offers. She said, “I have a daughter who goes to school and I need milk by 6 am. With the help of this app, milk is delivered on time.”

“In every household, mornings are a very busy time, and since I am also working, we do not have time to go out and bring milk. Since ours is a nuclear family, ordering milk online is very convenient for us,” she added.

An IT professional living in Nanded City, Sai Patel, prefers ordering milk with the help of apps as he finds it convenient in terms of payment and availability. He said, “It is so comfortable as you can order milk anytime and can modify your order even at night. "Recently, during Christmas, we went to our hometown and we easily canceled the order for the next few days without any hassle,” she added.

A sales professional from Aundh, Apoorva Srivastava, said, “I am a bachelor and this milk delivery app has made my life very easy as it is very convenient and easy to order without much hassle. We reach home late at night, thus this app has made our life simpler. We usually go out during weekends, thus this app also gives us convenience to cancel the order anytime we want.”

A milk vendor from Aundh, Amol Kamble, associated with milk delivery apps, find this platform very convenient. He said, “Earlier, I had to go door to door to collect money, but due to these apps, the payment has become really easy and also the milk is not wasted as we order milk as per the demand.”
