MH-CET on May 4, 5 cancelled

MH-CET on May 4, 5 cancelled

PUNE: The State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell has cancelled the slots of MH-CET to be held on May 4 and 5, as the dates are clashing with National Entrance cum Eligibility Test-undergraduate (NEET-UG) exam which will be held by National Testing Agency (NTA) on May 5.

However, only the morning slot on May 6 has been cancelled, while, MH-CET exam for PCMB will be conducted as per the original schedule. Examination of over thousands of students has been rescheduled on other dates due to this change.  The State Cell will conduct the CET for engineering (BE/BTech) and pharmacy (Bpharm /PharmD) from May 2 to 13. It will be held in two slots/session-- morning 9 am to 12 pm and 2 pm to 5 pm. The notice issued by the CET Cell stated that NEET-UG and CET are both important exams for students. So the examinations on two days i.e. May 4 and 5, May 6 morning session have been cancelled.

The Commissioner of State CET Cell has also mentioned in the notice that there will be no other changes made in the examination timetable hereafter. “We have adjusted all the students who have signed in for slots on Saturday (May 4), Sunday (May 5) and Monday (May 6) morning session on other days. We have deployed additional computers on those particular days where extra students will take the examination. The exam will get over on May 13 as no extension in dates have been made,” said Anand Rayate, Commissioner of State CET Cell.

“Many students will commute from different areas to the exam centre assigned to them and NEET is also an important exam for students. Therefore, we didn’t want the students to suffer. We have cancelled the examination on Saturday so that students can prepare for NEET-UG exam,” added Rayate.
