PUNE: The second international conference on Sustainable Water Management will be organised in the city from November 6 to 8.
It will be hosted by the State Water Resource Department. The global meet has been organised by the Union Ministry of Jal Shakti, Department of Water Resources River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation under the aegis of National Hydrology Project. The announcement was made during a press conference held at Sinchan Bhavan on Tuesday.
“Around 500 international and national delegates will participate in the conference. There are 12 technical sessions organised to bring various aspect of sustainable water management. In all, 30 NGOs working for conservation of water from the State will also be part of this conference,” said Rajendra Pawar, Secretary, Water Resource Department.
The conference will be inaugurated by Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat on Wednesday in the city.
International experts from countries like Australia, United States of America, United Kingdom, Netherlands, Canada, South Korea, Germany, Thailand and Sri Lanka will participate, apart from experts from the World Bank and International Commission on Irrigation and Drainage.
A poster competition will be held involving research scholars from prestigious institutions and several national and international vendors and consultants will showcase their equipment, technologies and capabilities in the exhibition.
