Many online courses gaining momentum

PUNE: Just as there are students that score hundred per cent marks in their exams, there are also students, who do not perform well. But in this age of technology, which has highly explored the field of education, it provides a chance to such students to achieve their goals and gain knowledge through online courses. Nowadays, international and national colleges or universities are providing certificate courses to the students sitting at home free of cost.

Hrishikesh Barhate, who presently owns his own company, has an educational background qualified with online courses. He said, “After getting poor marks in class 12, it was hard to understand which field to follow. But with an interest in IT solutions, I took the risk of giving a year to gaining knowledge only from the Internet and complete several online courses. The online courses are sometimes supported by educational information over the Internet and distant learning classes on their website, which further helped me to complete the courses.”

In the age when students are shifting to affordable online courses to gain more support for their knowledge and interest, it also questions about getting employment. Neha Lande, Human Resource Manager of Exioms Technology, said, “Presently, we get a lot of resumes of students, who have completed online courses in different fields like technology, marketing, digital marketing and programming languages. These online courses are effective to gain extra knowledge for the students to enhance the basic knowledge with experiments and test cases available along with the course.”

Speaking about employment, she further added, “When the certificates are presented from a renowned platform, it carries a private training for the candidate. Even many of the multi-national companies are providing their fresher candidates with the help of online courses and e-learning courses. This can be a huge drift from the traditional studies that briefly explains about various topics, but for specialised courses, online courses can be a good option for a single-topic training.”
