Man cheated while buying scooter

Pune: A man from Kothrud was cheated to the tune of Rs 1.5 lakh by an online fraudster while he was trying to buy an Okinawa scooter. A case was lodged by the victim’s son at Kothrud police station in the case.

As per information shared by officials of the Kothrud police station, the victim was planning to buy an Okinawa scooter online when he saw the advertisement of the scooter and contacted one of the dealers.

The seller identified himself as Deepak Sharma and asked the victim to pay Rs 10 through ‘Google Pay’ application to register for the vehicle.
 
]The victim followed instructions from the fraudster and ended up losing Rs 1.5 lakh from his bank account. The incident occurred on October 7. Police Inspector SS Shinde is investigating the case.
