Man battered with cement block by 3 of his friends

Pune: A 27-year-old man was attacked by three of his friends with a cement block over a minor argument while drinking late on Sunday night in Budhwar Peth.

The accused have been identified as Praveen Mahajan (32) of Kasba Peth, Ketan Kudale (22) of Raviwar Peth and Abhishek Ranwade (23) of Narayan Peth. The Faraskhana police have arrested Mahajan, whereas the other two accused are absconding.
The three accused attacked their friend Shivanan alias Shiva Gudodagi (27) of Wadgaon with a cement block under the influence of alcohol. The accused hit the victim on his head, neck and eye, which caused grievous injuries.

GD Naik, Police Sub-Inspector at Faraskhana police station, said, “We received a call on late Sunday night that a man was lying injured at a spot near JJ Sales Corporation. We rushed to the spot and admitted the victim to a hospital. Later, we were informed that he has been attacked by three of his friends with a cement block over a minor argument.” The accused have been booked for attempt to murder.
