Man attacked with knife at Parvati hill

PUNE: A 35-year-old man lost three teeth and suffered multiple fractures after he was assaulted and robbed by an unidentified youth at Parvati hill on Monday afternoon.

As per the information shared by Dattawadi police, the incident occurred at around 4 pm when the victim Manoj Bahutuje had gone for a walk at the hill. While passing from Kartik Swami temple, a youth tried to snatch Manoj’s mobile phone. When Manoj resisted, he pushed Manoj on the ground and attacked him with a knife.

The police said that Manoj was hit on his face because of which he lost his front three teeth. In the scuffle, Manoj also suffered fractures in his hands and legs. Manoj told police that the youth robbed him of Rs 200 and his mobile phone. Police Sub-Inspector KD Sankpal who is investigating the case said that the victim works at a cloth shop and as it was Monday, the shop was closed and Manoj thought of taking a walk on the hill.

“Apart from fractures, the victim has also suffered knife injuries. The victim raised an alarm and some people tried to intervene when the attacker fled. We are further investigating the case,” added Sankpal. The accused has been booked under sections of attempt to murder and robbery.
