Sources said that Landge has been assured that the Bhosari seat will be given to the BJP if there is an alliance of BJP and Shiv Sena for the State polls.

PIMPRI: BJP associate MLA Mahesh Landge has opened his office for Bhosari Assembly poll campaign even though this constituency was with the Shiv Sena in 2009 when the party had an alliance with the BJP.

The high-tech poll office was opened on Tuesday in the presence of BJP spokesperson Madhav Bhandari.

Pimpri Chinchwad Mayor Rahul Jadhav, Standing Committee Chairman Vilas Madigeri and former mayor Nitin Kalje were also present for the occasion. Landge said that the forthcoming Assembly polls will be contested with modern techniques. He expressed confidence that voters will support him on account of the various development work carried out during the past four years.

Sources said that Landge has been assured that the Bhosari seat will be given to the BJP if there is an alliance of BJP and Shiv Sena for the State polls.

In 2009 Bhosari assembly polls, NCP’s rebel Vilas Lande had defeated Shiv Sena’s Sulabha Ubale and NCP’s Mangala Kadam. In 2014 when there was no alliance between Shiv Sena and BJP, independent candidate Mahesh Landge had emerged victorious in a fierce four-cornered electoral fight. Landge’s rivals were Shiv Sena’s Sulabha Ubale, NCP’s Vilas Lande and BJP’s Eknath Pawar.

Soon after the election, Landge joined the BJP as an associate member. He had also helped the BJP to win power in the PCMC. The BJP has also been eyeing the Pimpri Assembly seat, where Shiv Sena’s Gautam Chabukswar was elected in 2014 with a very thin margin.
