Pune: Now, MahaMetro is going to repair potholes in Karve Road area. The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has given a letter to MahaMetro to repair the road on this route. Actually, potholes due to rain is not the responsibility of MahaMetro, yet they are ready to repair the potholes.
On Friday at a press conference, MahaMetro Executive Director Atul Gadgil cleared their side about the potholes on Karve road. MahaMetro has started Vanaz to Shivajinagar route work. Work is going on on Paud Road right now. Due to work, people are experiencing traffic congestion on Karve Road and Paud Road areas. In addition, due to continuous rain, there are many potholes on Karve Road. Therefore, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) Road Department has written a letter to MahaMetro to repair potholes on Karve Road as they emerged due to metro work.
Aniruddha Pawaskar, Head of PMC Road Department said, “The corporation has written a letter to MahaMetro to repair potholes. People have registered complaints so we have started work to repair roads. Actually before MahaMetro work started, it was decided that MahaMetro will take care of roads on which it starts its work. So it is the responsibility of MahaMetro.”
Gadgil said, “The MahaMetro will repair roads from barricading to footpath. Work includes potholes and chamber repair. We started pothole repair work on Paud Road. Now, we will survey Karve Road and start repair work soon.”
He said, “We started Vanaz, Anand Nagar and Ideal Colony Metro station work. We requested Vanaz company to provide place for station work. They have given permission for Metro work.”
