MahaMetro organises traffic safety and cleanliness drive

PUNE: The officials of Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MahaMetro) on Thursday held cleanliness and traffic safety drive to mark the third foundation day of the organisation.

150 MahaMetro employees participated in the cleanliness drive and the river bed from Deccan Gymkhana to Chhatrapati Sambhajiraje Udyan was cleaned by them. 

A traffic safety drive was also conducted jointly by the city traffic police and MahaMetro, wherein, two-wheeler drivers, riding without helmets, were educated on traffic rules and were gifted helmets by MahaMetro with advice to inculcate the practice of wearing helmets. MahaMetro officials said that they have almost completed about 37 per cent of the physical metro work in the city.

Speaking about the progress of the metro project in the city, MahaMetro MD Brijesh Dixit complimented the entire team of Pune Metro project for their outstanding contribution in all spheres and extended his greeting and best wishes to all employees and their families, its consultants and contractors. 

“I would like to thank Puneites, PMC, PCMC, police, State and Central government officials for their wholehearted support to MahaMetro,” said Dixit.
