Mahametro installs 50 pillars between Dapodi- Kharalwadi

Pimpri: The MahaMetro company which is executing metro Project in Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad has completed work for the installation of 50 pillars on 6.5 Kilometre stretch on Mumbai- Pune road between Dapodi to Kharalwadi. Similarly, 20 percent work for a metro route connecting Rangehillls to Pimpri has also been completed informed Sunil Mhaske, Project manager of the Metro project. 

Mhaske said, “Besides this, the work at Sant Tukaramnagar Metro station is also underway. Ten pillars will be constructed for this station. Out of this, the foundation for eight pillars has been completed.” He added, “The station will be accessible from Vallabhnagar bus stand. Pedestrian routes are also being constructed for this station. The work of for the foundation of pedestrian routes is also in the final stage.” 

Geological survey is being done in order to set up metro stations at Kasarwadi, Phugewadi. The officials said that service lines on the roadside at the site will be shifted elsewhere. 

The officials further informed that total 182 pillars of Metro will be constructed within the municipal limits of PCMC between Ahilyadevi Chowk, Morwadi to Dapodi. 

They informed that the foundation work for 80 out of 182 pillars has been completed.
