PUNE: A kick-off meeting of MahaMetro and Titagarh Firema, the company which has bagged the project to manufacture 102 aluminium-bodied coaches for Pune Metro was held at MahaMetro office on Thursday. The project, which will cost around Rs 1,125 crore, will give an edge to MahaMetro.
While each train will have three coaches, the number of coaches will be increased to six based on demand. 26 coaches will be manufactured in Kolkata and Nagpur.
MahaMetro Managing Director Brijesh Dixit and other officials were present for the meet. Officials said they discussed quality of coaches, design and planning of the project and other details. The air-conditioned coaches will have information system for passengers, emergency and fire fighting units, electronic displays, CCTV cameras, Wi-Fi facility, Led lamps, humidity control mechanism and other facilities. Dixit said, “We assure passengers travelling through Metro will get a world-class facility.”
