Maha approves annual budget of Rs 1,722 crore for PMRDA

Pune: The State Government on Friday approved a budget of Rs 1,722 crore for development projects of Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA).
 
According to PMRDA officials, the decision was taken at a meeting headed by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis along with PMRDA officials and Pune Guardian Minister Girish Bapat. 

Speaking at the meeting, Fadnavis said there was a need to provide facilities in PMRDA region, which will help in the growth of the region. 

The State Government also approved a joint venture of PMRDA and Maharashtra Housing Development Corporation for building homes under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana scheme.
 
Fadnavis approved a proposal for reserving 14 locations measuring 13.3 hectares for this scheme. The area will be developed as per the town planning schemes and facility of water, electricity, roads and drainage will be provided by the PMRDA.

Officials said Fadnavis has approved the appointment of a consultant to prepare a comprehensive and integrated plan for water supply, waste water treatment, rainwater harvesting and solid waste 
management. 

Fadnavis also approved Rs 30 crore for development of Hadapsar-Mahadev Nagar-Manjri Khurd-Wagholi road. This road will help connect three town planning schemes of Manjri, Wagholi, and Avhalwadi and connect the 110 m ring road of PMRDA. The State has also approved PMRDA to hold equity shares in Maharashtra Airport Development Company (MADC) for development of proposed Purandar international airport.
