Lt Gen Ahuja takes charge as CoS, HQ Southern Command

Pune: Lieutenant General Depinder Singh Ahuja has assumed charge of Chief of Staff at Headquarters Southern Command, Pune, on Monday.

The General Officer is an alumni of National Defence Academy (NDA), Khadakwasla, and was commissioned into Bengal Sappers in December 1981. The General Officer has excelled in all courses of instruction of the Indian Army, which includes B Tech (Elect Engg) from College of Military Engineering (CME), Pune, Masters in Management Studies from College of Defence Management and Master of Philosophy from Madras University. In more than 37 years of his illustrious career, he has held several important Regimental, Staff and Instructional appointments. 

Lt Gen Ahuja is also an alumni of certain premier institutions of the Indian Army like the Defence Services Staff College at Wellington, College of Defence Management, Secunderabad, and the prestigious National Defence College, New Delhi. He is also a member of Indian Institute of Engineers. The General Officer was conferred with the award of ‘Ati Vishisht Seva Medal’ on the occasion of Republic Day 2018 for his illustrious service towards the organisation.

On the first day of assuming the appointment, Lt Gen Ahuja paid homage to the martyrs of the Armed Forces at the National War Memorial, Pune, by laying a wreath.
