Pune: Here is a chance for all astrologers, who claim to predict the future and do so for many of their clients, to win big money by accurately predicting the result of 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
The astrologers stand a chance to win a handsome prize of Rs 21 Lakh this year.
The prize has been announced by Maharashtra Andhashraddha Nirmulan Samiti (MANS), an organisation actively waging a war against superstition.
Interestingly, MANS has maintained that astrology is a pseudo science having no scientific base.
Avinash Patil, State President of MANS, told Sakal Times that the official announcement regarding the same would be made in Nashik on April 6. Patil said that the organisation will announce all details pertaining to this challenge during the conference held in Nashik and later in Mumbai. Patil said that making astrological prediction in nothing but an art form.
This is not the first time MANS has announced such a prize. The MANS had posed a similar challenge during the 2014 Lok Sabha election. Patil said that MANS had personally contacted over 100 prominent astrologers in India. However, not a single astrologer took up this challenge. The competition involved predicting the accurate number of seats won by each political party.
The astrologers participating in this competition were asked to predict the name of the winning candidates and results in all significant constituencies.
Similarly, the astrologers were asked to divulge the name of persons who would get ministry. Patil added that despite repeated reminders not a single participant took up this challenge.
Vijay Jakatdar, a prominent astrologer from the city, said that PM Narendra Modi stands a chance of winning more than 250-260 seats as his planetary position will improve after March 30.
Meanwhile, Riturparna Roy Chowdhury, a Kolkata-based astrologer said that astrologers can predict only a generalised outcome and predicting the accurate outcome is impossible.
Chowdhury who runs Jyotishvishwa.co.in website said that generally speaking, NDA government will come to power again with BJP alone bagging 272+ seats.
