LokSabha 2019: Party leaders make beeline to Maval & Shirur

Shiv Sena and BJP leaders are campaigning for Shiv Sena’s Shirur seat candidate Shivajirao Adhalrao Patil and for Maval seat candidate Shrirang Barne. NCP’s State President Jayant Patil was also in the city on Thursday to campaign for the party’s candidates.

PIMPRI: Senior leaders of the BJP-Shiv Sena alliance and NCP-Congress front are making a beeline to campaign in Maval and Shirur Lok Sabha constituencies as the polling date gets nearer.

NCP leader Sharad Pawar, party MP Supriya Sule, Shiv Sena leaders Uddhav Thackeray and Aditya Thackeray, former deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar and NCP State President Jayant Patil are among the leaders campaigning in the two parliamentary constituencies.

Ajit Pawar has been camping in Maval constituency for the past few days. Pawar’s son, Parth, is challenging Shiv Sena’s sitting MP Shrirang Barne in Maval constituency.

Shiv Sena and BJP leaders are campaigning for Shiv Sena’s Shirur seat candidate Shivajirao Adhalrao Patil and for Maval seat candidate Shrirang Barne. NCP’s State President Jayant Patil was also in the city on Thursday to campaign for the party’s candidates.

Shiv Sena youth leader Aditya Thackeray held a dialogue with youngsters in Pimpri on Wednesday evening and appealed to them to vote for Shiv Sena’s sitting MP Shrirang Barne. 

Later, he also met Pimpri Chinchwad BJP chief and MLA Laxman Jagtap and Bhosari’s independent MLA Mahesh Landge.

Shiv Sena leader Ravindra Mirlekar also held a meeting of the party workers on Wednesday and asked them to work for the party nominee. Earlier, there were allegations that Shiv Sena loyalists were keeping themselves aloof from the party’s poll campaign.

Leader of the Opposition in State Legislative Council Dhananjay Munde addressed a rally for NCP’s Shirur candidate Dr Amol Kolhe in Bhosari on Wednesday. 

Former ministers Dilip Walse Patil, Dilip Sopal and former MLA Vilas Lande were also present.
