The General Administration department of State Government had issued a notification on March 27 stating that the Government of Maharashtra has declared public holidays on account of General elections of 2019. As per the notification, public holiday will also apply to the registered voters of the poll-bound areas even if they are working outside the territorial limits of such areas. “We have recieved notification from Government of Maharshtra that paid holiday will be given to the employees and it is applicable to private sector as well. If inescapable, two to three hours break will be given and for much cases, prior intimation should be given to the Municipal Commissioner. We have circulated this notification to all the member companies and they will be taking responsible decisions on the same,” said Col Charanjeet Bhogal (Rtd), Chief Operating Officer, Hinjawadi Industries Association.
