PIMPRI: NCP President Sharad Pawar has said that he now wishes to see his party’s young brigade, presently in the election arena, solve people’s problems in the State.

Addressing the NCP-Congress front’s election rally at Talegaon Dabhade in Maval Lok Sabha seat on Thursday, the NCP supremo said that Maharashtra’s first chief minister Yashwantrao Chavan had brought in young leaders in 1967 in the State’s politics.

Following this tradition, now, the NCP-Congress front has fielded young leaders like Dhananjay Mahadik, Sangram Jagtap, Parth Pawar, Sanjay Shinde and Dr Amol Kolhe in the Parliamentary polls, Pawar said.

”I will personally like to see this new generation of leaders work for the people in the State,” he said.

The other speakers at the election rally organised for the party’s candidate Parth Pawar included former MP Vidura Nawale, Jaydeo Gaikwad and Vijay Kolte.

Pawar said that despite securing a majority in Parliament, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had failed to fulfil the promises given to the electorates in 2014 polls.

Pawar said that he had witnessed election rallies of veterans like Pandit Nehru, Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi and Yashwantrao Chavan. The Nashik rally addressed by Prime Minister Modi was, however, very strange as trenches were dug on the ground to prevent people from leaving the meeting halfway, he said.
