LIGO-India’s online lecture series to begin from Friday

PUNE: LIGO-India will be conducting an online lecture series for all students and people interested in Gravitational Wave (GW) Science and the LIGO-India Project from Friday. The participants will also be able to interact and ask questions to eminent GW scientists and astronomers.

Interested candidates can join through YouTube Live (LIGO-India EPO Channel). The lectures will be held on April 3 and April 6. All the lectures will be live from 4 pm-5 pm. There will be a lecture on EM Counterparts to Gravitational Waves: Seeing what we hear! By Prof Varun Bhalerao (IIT-Bombay) on April 3 whereas the lecture on ‘Overview of LIGO-Technology and Opportunities’ by Dr Suresh Doravari (IUCAA) is scheduled on April 6.
