Light rain likely  today in city, says Met Dept

PUNE: On Sunday, Pune recorded 10.9 mm rainfall during the day. The maximum temperature in the city was 23 degrees Celsius and minimum temperature was 20.6 degree Celsius. 

As per India Meteorological Department (IMD), rise in maximum temperature and light rain is expected on October 21. Anupam Kashyapi, Head of weather, said that on polling day, weather will be comfortable in the morning till 2 pm in the afternoon.  “During afternoon, there are chances of thundery activity, lightning, very short spell of gusty wind and short but intense spell of rain,” said Kashyapi.

He further added that impact wise, two days of moderate rain may create water logging in low lying areas.

Across the State, as per IMD predictions, there is a possibility of thunderstorm along with rainfall in Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada and Konkan and Goa on october 21.

As per the official statement by IMD, the low pressure area lies over eastcentral Arabian Sea. 

“It is very likely to become well marked low pressure area by October 22. It is likely to intensify into depression during subsequent 24 hours. Another Low Pressure Area is likely to form over Bay of Bengal around October 23,” said IMD.

The Northeast Monsoon has been active over coastal Karnataka and Kerala.
