PUNE: The city can expect light rain on December 3, according to a forecast issued by the weather department for central Maharashtra.
The minimum temperature in Pune is expected to dip to 13 degree Celsius by the end of this week, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast.
The lowest minimum temperature in the State on Monday was reported in Ahmednagar at 10 degrees Celsius.
On Monday, the minimum temperature reported in Pune was 16.8 degrees Celsius. As per IMD, generally cloudy sky along with very light rain is very likely on December 3 and 4.
The night temperature is expected to drop to as low as 13 degrees Celsius as per IMD by the end of this week in Pune.
The lowest minimum temperature across the plains was recorded at 5.5 degrees Celsius at Sikar in east Rajasthan.
As per IMD, a well-marked low-pressure area over the southwest Arabian Sea and the adjoining equatorial Indian Ocean and is likely to intensify into a Cyclonic Storm till December 4.
Another low-pressure area over Lakshadweep area and adjoining Southeast Arabian Sea persists with associated cyclonic circulation. It is likely to become more marked till December 3 evening and concentrate into a depression till December 4.
Under the influence of an active easterly wave, fairly widespread to widespread rainfall with heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places are very likely over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Kerala, Mahe and Lakshadweep. Heavy rainfall at isolated places over south Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, Coastal and South Interior Karnataka are likely till December 3.
As per IMD, there is likely reduction in rainfall over Peninsular India from December 3.
