Khau Galli opens its doors to Puneites

Pune: MH-12 Khau Galli Season 5, a food and entertainment festival organised by Sakal Media Group, began at Mahalaxmi Lawns near Raja Ram Bridge on Saturday.

The festival offers delicacies such as 'chaats' and 'biryanis' among dozens of other lip-smacking snacks and refreshments.

The festival, which will continue till Monday morning from 11 am to 9 pm, has options for entertainment and shopping as well.

The festival was inaugurated on Saturday by Arjun Bhujbal, Joint Commissioner, FDA, in the presence of Shailesh Patil, General Manager, Sakal, and Shirish Deshpande, Chief Executive Officer, Buldhana Urban Co-operative Credit Society Ltd.

Sharing his views, Bhujbal said, “Punekars will enjoy the world of various food items under one roof here. This initiative is nice and has given priority to cleanliness and quality. It is a platform for quality and innovation of food that will be presented to the citizens. It connects people from the food industry with its consumers.”

At Khau Galli, visitors can enjoy the songs of Jitendra Bhuruk. On Sunday, Kishore Kumar Special and on Monday, romantic duets will be presented. There will be a gaming zone for children. The entry fee for the festival is Rs 25 and parking is provided free of cost.

The partners of Khau-Galli are Gemini Oil and Nature Fresh flour, cookie partner - Beck Factory, cake partner - WS Bakers, banking partner - Buldana Urban Co-op Credit Society Ltd, Honey Partner - Satmaah Honey.

Mouthwatering dishes
Vegetarian and non-vegetarian food items like Konkan fish, Kolhapur's Tambda-Pandhra Rassa, Nagpur special spicy Mutton and Malvani dishes are available. 

Various varieties of biryani, Maska Bhaji, soups, Prawns Khichadi, Kolhapuri misal, Nashik misal, Akhkha Masur, Rabdi, Dahi Vada, Modak, South Indian meals, Punjabi Thali, Maharashtrian snacks, sandwiches, tandoor specials, sea-food, chaat corner and more than 40 types of food items are available.
