Jnana Prabodhini gets Rs 25 lakh grant

PUNE: Jnana Prabodhini, a city-based NGO, has been selected as the recipient of HCL Grant 2019. Working since 1962 for motivating individuals by providing them with education and nurturing their intelligence, it has received Rs 25 lakh in the education category.

Talking about the same, Abhijit Kapre, Project Director, Jnana Prabodhini, said, “The platform provided us with an opportunity to benchmark ourselves against the best organisations in the field. The runner-up grant will help us in expanding our informal education programmes to two more districts of Maharashtra.”

Talking about the future plans, Kapre said, “Thinking skills such as critical thinking, creativity, leadership, entrepreneurship, empathy, etc, are becoming more important day-by-day. JP has developed a unique methodology for nurturing these qualities in children through activity-based pedagogy. We plan to make this methodology available to a wider audience in both formal and informal education space by scaling up and use of technology.”
