Jet-setting burglar brought down by city cops

PUNE: The Wakad police have nabbed a 36-year-old burglar known for living an extravagant lifestyle for being allegedly involved in recent two burglaries in Thergaon. 

As per information shared by Police Inspector Satish Mane of Wakad police station, the arrested accused has been identified as Anil Rajbhar, a resident of Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh. 

Police officials said that two burglaries were executed by an unidentified person on July 22 and July 25 in Thergaon. In first case, an unidentified burglar stole ornaments and laptop from a flat at Mauli Residency society. In the second case, gold ornaments weighing 137 grams were stolen from a flat at Ocean Meadows society.

Following this, officials of Wakad police station, including policemen Vikram Jagdale, Prashant Gilbile, Nitin Gengje, Tatyasaheb Shinde and others started perusing CCTV footage collected from areas near the crime scene. 

During the investigation, the police found that Rajbhar was acting suspiciously. Rajbhar was staying in a private hotel in the area. After collecting evidence, the police nabbed Rajbhar and seized 25 tola gold and the stolen laptop from the accused.

During the investigation, the police found that Rajbhar would stay in expensive hotels and would travel by flight from Uttar Pradesh to Pune to execute the crime. Sub-Inspector Harish Mane is investigating the case. The police said that the accused is a history sheeter and has also executed burglaries in Mumbai.
