Javadekar stresses on PM’s plea to save water

Pune: Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting Prakash Javadekar, on Sunday, listened to the first interaction in the second season of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s much acclaimed ‘Mann Ki Baat’, along with the residents of Kothrud.

More than 400 residents of Kothrud attended the event organised by Pune Municipal Corporation’s (PMC) Murlidhar Mohol.

“Through Mann Ki Baat, in its first season, the PM has been successful in connecting with the people of India on the issues and subjects that matter to them. In order to honour the beginning of its second phase, we had organised this event on behalf of our ward,” Mohol said.

After Mann Ki Baat, Javadekar interacted with the people for a few minutes and shared with them how Mann Ki Baat has been a boon to the people of India. He also stated that the PM has driven several of his initiatives and movements like those of Swachh Bharat, Beti Bachao, etc, through Mann Ki Baat. “Now, he has begun exhorting people towards saving water,” Javadekar stated.

“Today, the PM spoke about the much crucial issue of water in the country. He said that in coming years, we need to work on water conservation, considering the water situation in the country,” Mohol added.

Mann Ki Baat is a programme hosted by the PM on All India Radio (AIR), DD National and DD News since October 2014. Here, the PM addresses the people of the nation in around 20-minute long episodes.
