Israeli Ambassador lauds Sakal Media Group’s efforts

Pune: Israeli Ambassador to India Daniel Carmon on Friday lauded Sakal Media Group’s (SMG) efforts in enhancing the bilateral relations between the two countries. Carmon remarked that he is optimistic about the future ties between both countries. He said the initiatives undertaken by groups like Sakal Group will prove mutually beneficial for citizens and industries in both the countries.

Carmon, along with Consul General David Akov and Political Counsellor Adva Vilchinski, visited the SMG office at Shivajinagar on Friday. SMG Managing Director and Delivering Change Foundation Founder & Chairman Abhijit Pawar, DCF Advisory Director Bobby Nimbalkar interacted with them and made a presentation on various initiatives such as Smart Village and Smart City by Sakal Media Group, with the help of several groups from Israel.

Carmon appreciated Sakal Media Group’s efforts in partnering with several companies and educational institutes from Israel to bring about a positive change in sectors such as agriculture, entrepreneurship and ecosystem of start-ups, education and skill development. Carmon said such partnerships form the fabric of ties between both countries. He added that the relations between the governments are important but the relations between the people and businesses strengthen the bonds.

Stating that the Indo-Israel diplomatic relations, which began in 1992, are completing 25 years, Carmon said India is definitely on top of the agenda of Israel’s international relations.

Expressing satisfaction about the bonds the two countries share, he said these relations are based on confidence, friendship and experience. He said both the countries have hosted each other’s Presidents. Now, Israel expects a visit by the Prime Minister of India.

Commenting on the future of the Indo-Israel relations, Carmon said the content of future relationship will be about the areas of top priorities to both countries.

He said both countries can find common solutions as they share similar values and have similar challenges.

Various initiatives undertaken by SMG
Ambassador Daniel Carmon was impressed by the initiatives undertaken by Sakal Media Group. A  presentation regarding the same was made showing various activities undertaken by the Group along with journalism such as skill development, education, community transformation, agricultural and urban development and empowerment of women. Carman showed interest in various activities and expressed satisfaction that these initiatives are being undertaken by Sakal Group with the help ofIsrael.

Expanding ‘Centres of Excellence’
Ambassador Daniel Carmon said Israel is considering expanding the ‘Centres of Excellence’ dedicated to vegetables, fruits and mangoes that are being run in six states of India. Currently, 15 such centres are being run in the country, which provide thorough training on various aspects of the value chain of a particular crop.
