Info centre to be set up at Sambhaji Garden

Pune: After more than a year, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has decided to allot land of 2,000 square feet to Maharashtra Metro Railway Corporation (Maha Metro) to set up information centre in Sambhaji Garden. It will be functional in a month. 

Ashok Ghorpade, Chief of Garden Department of PMC said, “We have given 2,000 square feet of land to Maha Metro to set up a temporary information centre near the swimming pool. There is one entry point to garden from Balgandharva Rangmandir. They will set up a tent for information centre. The decision was taken in last week and we have issued a letter to Maha Metro.” 

A senior official of Maha Metro said, “The information centre will be shaped like a Metro passenger coach with similar interior and looks. Along with providing information, the centre intends to give a live metro feel to the citizens of Pune. It will be operational in a month.” Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation wanted to set up an information centre for promotional activity in PMC and PCMC.

Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation wanted to set up an information centre for promotional activity in Pimpri-Chinchwad and Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC). They got space in PCMC area at Vallabh Nagar in Pimpri and they were looking for a place in PMC limits. They suggested lands in Sambhaji Garden and Peshwe Garden where they wanted to set up an information centre. For Nagpur metro project, Maha Metro has set up an information centre in that city. 

The purpose of setting up the centre is to provide comprehensive information about Pune Metro which includes latest developments, project updates besides answers to all questions on technical, non-technical, commercial, salient features, benefits, stations, routes etc. All residents of Pune can walk into this information centre and get answers to all their queries.
