IMD predicts warmer days ahead in the city

Pune: City to experience warmer days ahead with minimum temperature touching 11 degree Celsius and maximum temperature going as high as 30 degree Celsius.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), some parts of Vidarbha may experience cold wave like situation till January 6 whereas other parts of the State will witness dry weather.

On Thursday, the lowest minimum temperature in the State was recorded at Ahmednagar at 7 degrees Celsius. IMD predicted that the city weather will witness mainly clear skies in the coming days.

Other parts of the country were engulfed in cold wave like conditions. The lowest minimum temperature was recorded at 0.4 degrees Celsius at Alwar in west Rajasthan on Thursday.

Severe cold wave conditions prevailed at a few places over east Rajasthan, cold wave conditions prevailed at isolated places over Rajasthan. Severe cold day conditions prevailed at most places over Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and over Punjab. Cold day conditions also prevailed at isolated places over Bihar, west Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh.

Dense to very dense fog was observed over Cooch Behar, Jalpaiguri in West Bengal, Sikkim, Agra, Delhi, Rohtang, Karnal, Hissar, Chandigarh, Patiala, Ludhiana, Amritsar in Punjab, Jaipur in Rajasthan and Pendra Road in east Madhya Pradesh on Thursday.

IMD predicted that in the coming few days, cold wave conditions will prevail at isolated places over east Rajasthan. Also, cold day conditions are likely to prevail at isolated places over Bihar and Uttar Pradesh.
