IMD expects day temperature to rise to 34 degrees Celsius in Pune

PUNE: Pune city on Thursday reported day temperature at 32.1 degrees Celsius, which was two degrees less than normal. As a result, the day temperature was cooler. For the last couple of days, the day temperature has been less than normal, making it comparatively cooler.

The minimum temperature on Thursday was reported at 14.8 degrees Celsius, which was one degree more than normal. 

As per the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the day temperature in the city is expected to rise to 34 degrees on March 11. Whereas, the minimum temperature is expected to be around 16 degrees Celsius during the same time. 

The highest maximum temperature reported across Maharashtra on Thursday was 35.5 degrees Celsius at Bramhapuri. The lowest minimum temperature reported on Thursday was 12.5 degrees Celsius at Ahmednagar. 

The India Meteorological Department has forecasted that till March 9, isolated parts of Vidarbha are expected to experience rainfall. Whereas Konkan and Goa, Central Maharashtra and Marathwada experience dry weather during this time.

NATIONAL SCENARIO
As per the IMD, the highest maximum temperature of 38.5 degrees Celsius was recorded at Madurai in Tamil Nadu on Thursday. The lowest minimum temperature recorded over the plains was 9.2 degrees Celsius recorded at Karnal in Haryana.

As per predictions made by the India Meteorological Department, thunderstorm accompanied with lightning, hail and gusty wind likely at isolated places over Uttarakhand, with gusty wind likely at isolated places over Assam and Meghalaya and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura till March 7. 

Heavy rain and snow are likely at isolated places over Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan and Uttarakhand till March 7.
