IMA celebrates its 91st foundation day

Pune: Indian Medical Association (IMA) Pune Branch is celebrating its 91st foundation day this year with various events organised between May 26 and May 31.

On Sunday, 15 kilometre, 10 kilometre, 5 kilometre and 3 kilometre marathon was organised in association with Last Sunday Of Every Month (LSOM) which started at 5.30 am from Adishakti Yoga Hall, Sutarwadi link road near Sai Chowk in Pashan.

An exhibition was also organised on Sunday where painting, photography, embroidery, knitting, quilling and jewellery designed by members of IMA Pune Branch were showcased. The day ended with an orchestra by Healing Harmony.

An entertainment programme by mentally challenged children is also organised on May 31 at  Kelkar Hall, IMA. This programme will be followed by first aid training to the parents and teachers of mentally challenged children. 
On June 2, between 11 am to 1 pm, IMA has organised one-act play written by Vivek Bele and directed by Abhay Godse at Jyotsna Bhole Sabhagruh Hirabag. Dr Mohan Agashe and Manjusha Godse are playing the lead role in this play. All the above programmes are free and open for all, said Dr Rajan Sancheti, Secretary IMA Pune.

Dr Sanjay Patil, President of IMA Pune, said, “We are happy to celebrate the legacy of IMA Pune Branch. For 91 years, IMA Pune has done excellent work in the betterment of healthcare and we are bound to continue this legacy for upcoming many years. This time, we are not just doctors who are coming together but we are involving everyone in our celebration, this will help us to reach more people and spread awareness.”

Dr Jayant Navrange, Executive Trustee, IMA Pune, said, “We at IMA are devoted for the development of our members and the healthcare as a whole. IMA Pune chapter has been serving the medical sector for 91 years and we have to carry forward this noble work in the future.”

Avinash Bhutkar, Chairman Trustee IMA Pune, said, “Our members have devoted their time to IMA for the social work. Due to their support, we could build such a beautiful office in Pune.”
